My research interests include immunotherapy in combination with radiation as well as maximizing quality of life outcomes. Its collegial atmosphere and resources allow for medical advancements through collaboration and clinical trials. Jefferson offers multiple opportunities to do just that. I want to be an integral part in patients’ care from diagnosis to cure while utilizing ever-advancing technology and oncologic therapies. Radiation oncology is a field requiring teamwork not only with medical professionals, but also with patients and their families. This was my first dedicated exposure to radiation oncology and I was enthralled by the integration of surgical, medical and radiation oncology along with physics. During this time, I completed the Simon Kramer Summer Externship with a research focus on CNS malignancies. I was then accepted to the Early Assurance Program and completed my MD at Penn State College of Medicine. I was born in Karachi, Pakistan, however, I spent the majority of my life in Hershey, Pennsylvania - literally, the sweetest place on earth!
